No single aspect of your brand is more important than a quality website. Think of your website as your company’s representative. Most consumers will look at you and your competitors’ sites, so you need yours to stand out! A “good” website isn’t good enough to make people excited about your company. What you really need is a GREAT website.
So what makes a great website?
Your site reflects your brand and it’s important to be visually appealing, polished and professional. While pre-made templates and themes make creating a website easy, off the shelf websites don’t help to differentiate your company from your competitors. You need a website as unique as you are. Equally important, the site must work quickly, correctly and as expected. Every page should always be fast and functional, because any of them could be a potential customer’s first or only impression.
At Tech Peer, we always recommend responsive web design (RWD). This ensures your site will display properly on any device, including desktops, mobile phones, tablets, or even smartwatches. The page elements should be designed to move, resize, and adapt to ensure optimal user experience (UX) regardless of how your users access the site. .
You can use Google’s Mobile-Friendly Test to see if your website is well-designed for mobile devices.
Your website may look great, but ultimately, it must be useful and captivating. Most visitors only read 20-30% of the text on a website. Since 90% of the information our brains can memorize is in visual form, by transforming key text into rich content, which is visuals and interactives, you can dramatically increase visitor engagement.
It is not enough to get people to come to your site. You want people to use your site or application and become customers. Conversion happens when someone does what you want and completes a desired action on your website, like signing up for a newsletter, sharing a blog post to social media, or buying a product. Think of it like this… Facebook and Instagram don’t want users to simply download the app or visit the website, they want users to register and use the application, then tell their friends. That’s what you want from your site.
What is the purpose of your site? Is that purpose clear to visitors? Even informational sites want visitors to read and share articles, follow the company on social media, download toolkits, join mailing lists or learn more about the organization. A call to action makes it clear to potential customers which action to take next and helps remove friction in moving the user down the sales funnel. Include an ask on each page.
At Tech Peer we offer an extensive range of website and application development solutions that will provide you with an online presence that best shows off your company and engages your target audience. We want to help you to succeed and grow, like we’ve done with so many of our clients. Check out some of our reviews and we invite you to contact us for a proposal.
